Greg Crinion manages the firm’s Bay Area Houston,
Texas office and directs the office’s consumer
collection and general business litigation practice
as well as the homeowner association representation
practice. In addition to representing public and
private financial institutions and financial
institution regulatory entities in collection
matters for many years, he has extensive experience
in representing business entities in a wide variety
of litigation matters nationwide.
Mr. Crinion focuses his personal practice in the
area of real estate law, including real estate
acquisition, sale and investment and real estate
development. His work includes representing clients
in the residential real estate development business
as well as defending business entities in
construction and development matters and
environmental claims. |
|
One of his court successes is
presenting the argument adopted by the U.S.
Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals rejecting a claim
for common law strict liability based upon ultrahazardous activity. Claims for environmental
damages in Texas must rest upon proof of negligence,
not strict liability. |
Before co-founding the firm, Mr. Crinion was an
attorney with Exxon Company, U.S.A. in Houston and
Exxon Corporation in New York City where he
concentrated in environmental and construction
litigation, and later an equity partner with a large
Texas law firm practicing in the areas of litigation
and environmental law.
He has authored an extensive list of legal articles,
a number of which have been cited as authority by
other legal scholars and used for classroom teaching
purposes. Click here for a list of many of those
articles.
Mr. Crinion is licensed to practice law in Texas and
Wisconsin as well as in Colorado and the District of
Columbia (inactive status). He is further admitted
to practice law before the United States Supreme
Court, the United States Courts of Appeals for the
Fifth and Seventh Circuits, all federal district and
bankruptcy courts in Texas, and the U.S. District
Court for the Western District of Wisconsin. He is a
member of the American Bar Association, the State
Bar of Texas and the State Bar of Wisconsin.
Born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Mr. Crinion holds a
Bachelor of Business Administration degree in
finance, cum laude, from the University of
Wisconsin-Eau Claire, including education at the
University of Copenhagen, a Master of Business
Administration degree with an emphasis in
international finance from the University of
Minnesota, and a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude,
