Chris Gillett
Chris Gillett was born in Houston, Texas in 1967. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Austin College in Sherman, Texas and a Juris Doctor degree from South Texas College of Law in 1996.

Chris’s practice is concentrated in the area of civil litigation, including contract disputes, business disputes, construction litigation, landlord-tenant and real estate litigation, commercial collection matters, and advertising law. He also serves as an appointed receiver and master. Chris is “AV” Peer Review Rated by Martindale Hubbell, which is the highest rating available, signifying the highest levels of legal skill and integrity.

Chris has successfully tried civil lawsuits in the trial courts of Harris County, Texas and represented companies in prosecuting unfair trade practice claims and false advertising claims against competitors. He has also argued cases at the appellate level. His published cases include Guity v. C.C.I. Enterprise Co., 54 S.W.3d 526 (Tex. App. -- Houston [1st Dist.] 2001).

Chris is a trained mediator with experience and training in many forms of alternative dispute resolution (“ADR”). He is able to help clients determine when a form of ADR meets their needs better than traditional litigation and to assist other parties in resolving their disputes.

Chris has also edited several critically acclaimed publications including Hardin J. Burlingame et al., Psychophysiological Thought Reading, or, Muscle Reading and the Ideomotor Response Revealed (1st ed. 2002) and Steve Banachek, Psychological Subtleties (2nd ed. 1998).

Chris is licensed by the Texas Supreme Court and the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Texas and the District of Colorado. He is a member of the Houston Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, and the Nashville Songwriters Association International. He is also a member of the Houston Bar Association’s Speaker's Bureau, which offers knowledgeable attorneys to lecture to local community and business organizations.  He is also privileged to be a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas, which is an honorary society of lawyers who are interested in both high ethical standards and improved training for all Texas attorneys.
