
Kit Ashby’s practice focuses on shareholder and partnership disputes, breach of contract claims, commercial collection matters, advertising law, construction lawsuits, and product liability claims. He also serves as counsel to a major automobile distributor on various matters around the Gulf Coast area.
Prior to entering the private practice of law, Mr.
Ashby served as a judge advocate in the United States
Marine Corps and currently holds the rank of Major
in the United States Marine Corps Reserves.
Mr. Ashby prosecuted and defended many cases in the
Marine Corps, and since has successfully tried
numerous civil lawsuits in the trial courts of
Harris County, Texas.
He is an active participant in the legal community, a member of the Houston Bar Association, has served on the Hispanic Bar Association (both as a member and as a director), the State Bar of Texas Child Abuse and Neglect Committee and the Houston Bar Association Special Olympics Committee. Mr. Ashby is also a member of the Houston Advertising Federation.
Born in New York City, New York, in 1965, Mr. Ashby
holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University
and a Juris Doctor degree from The University of Texas
at Austin. Mr. Ashby is licensed by the Texas
Supreme Court, the United States Supreme
Court, and the United States District Court for the
Southern District of Texas.
